Unable to find files in anon-whonix download location

I have downloaded pdf n ppt files in to tor download folder of anon-whonix template appvm after restart I am unable to access them or all are missing , how do I recover ?

If I lose how do I move the files in downloads folder to filesystem where I can store and even replicate or duplicate in a USB drive ?

are you sure you looking in the right place? It defaults to /home/user/.tb/tor-browser/Browser/Downloads

You have to show hidden files in file manager. You might want to go into the browser options and change setting to automatically save in your preferred location.

Check /home/user/.tb/tor-browser/Browser/Downloads/

TorBrowser preferences are confusing because that directory is the same name as /home/user/Downloads.

They will not disappear after reboot since /home/user/ is located in the /rw/ parent directory.
