GSoC 26 - Expression of interest in VM configuration project

Hello,

I am Stefano from Padova, Italy!

I am really interested in working on the Mechanism for maintaining in-VM configuration project for GSoC 2026. It immediately caught my attention because I enjoy working on system security and virtualization topics.

I am comfortable with Python, and Bash, and I would like to learn more about Qubes OS internals, especially qrexec services since I see they are an important prerequisite. If you have any suggested issues or starting points, I would really appreciate it.

Right now I am working on issue 5884  to get more familiar with the project and build some confidence with the codebase.

Please let me know if there is more information about the project that could help me start thinking about a solid proposal.
