Hi,

I have this running qubes R2 Beta1 after a few installation issues.

This model has an Intel i5-3317U cpu and Intel UMA shared graphics, Insye bios version F.06

[This model really is legacy-free - the only interfaces in common with a Windows 95 era laptop are power, audio and Ethernet!]

Working - Sound, Ethernet, WiFi, dual monitor support, touchpad (partial functionality), suspend to RAM

Not working - additional functions on F1 thru F12 keys

Install issues

As with all Widows 8 laptops, this has a UAFI BIOS and in this model it is set in UEFI mode at the factory.

To boot the install USB drive set the following bios settings (Esc then F10):

* Visualization Technology - Enabled

* USB3.0 Configuration in Pre-OS - Auto

* Boot Options - Legacy Support - Enabled

The installer doesn't support UEFI, so qubes has to be booted in legacy mode, but the bios boot order is UEFI first, then legacy so I have to manually choose the boot device each time I boot (Esc then F9). To help this, I increased the POST Hotkey Delay to 5 seconds. The Notebook hard drive option is the legacy boot.

During the install there was a disk error (sorry - I didn't record the message) which appears to have come while my Win 8 partition was being re-sized. Net result is Win 8 won't boot. (Not an issue as it was a brand new laptop so I had no data on it and I made a recovery USB drive first.)
