Building dom0 kernel modules (tp_smapi)

Hi,
tp_smapi is a kernel module for Thinkpads that allows cools stuff like battery charge control. It's not in the qubes repos and I'd like to build it for dom0.
How can I build a kernel module for dom0 without having to install the whole tool chain in dom0?
