[GSoC] Automate template version upgrade

Greetings,

I am interested in contributing to automate the template update process and have been reviewing the discussion in #8605 to understand the scope of the work.

The prerequisites list: Python, Bash, Debian / Fedora packaging. I am comfortable with Python and Bash, and I have experience maintaining AUR packages. This project would be an excellent opportunity to further develop my understanding of deb and rpm packaging.

I also work with Rust and have contributed to Arti and Zed. I would be interested if the team is open to exploring project ideas in Rust.

I understand that this message comes relatively late with the GSoC contributor application deadline approaching in six days. I have long admired QubesOS and I am excited to contribute. I will ensure clear and timely communication throughout the process.

If you are familiar with some packaging, others shouldn't be much of an
issue (Debian is rather different, but also there are a lot of docs and
examples).

Yes, we do have some components written in Rust, but none related to the
template update.

As long as the submission is before the deadline, it will be considered

But you may want to also take a look at some issue with "good first
issue" label. Seeing how you interact with the project may help with
proposal evaluation.
