Greetings developers,

I would like to address the question of whether Qubes OS will look to participate on the Google Summer of Code 2020 as it has been announced.
Last year the project didn't participate (although I'm not sure of the reasons), there is though a very detailed list that can be found (here: https://www.qubes-os.org/gsoc/) with guidelines and issues.

If participation is desired, could we start monitoring which candidate projects are most relevant and not completed (fully or partially) and assign labels for interested students to start with (minor issues, possibly old ones that have been left in dust).

Thanks for your time,
Harry

Yes, it was announced, but projects application isn't open yet.

We have applied, but weren't accepted.

Yes, that's what we need to do before applying. And also propose new
project ideas.

- From a brief look at the list, projects that are completed or in
progress in some way:
- Dedicated Audio qube (almost completed)
- Unikernel-based firewallvm with Qubes firewall settings support (in
progress)
- Xen GPU passthrough for Intel integrated GPUs (in progress)
- Unattended Windows installation (mostly completed)

I'll have some time for a more thorough review of that list (and
actually update it) somewhere at the beginning of January...
In the meantime, it's a good idea to discuss projects here and maybe
open PRs to that page.
