Redis HA

Perhaps I'm missing something in the HA documentation, but it appears to set up three separate Redis instances in front of a load balancer. How can GC locking safely work in such a setup? For example, how is the simultaneous processing of a single repository by two GC workers prevented if each Redis instance is independent?
