I have an app that is color managed. I haven't done a new version of it in a few years. I'm starting to work on a new version. I brought all the code into XCode 4 on Lion - and found out that the entire ColorSync Manager library has been deprecated. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a single word anywhere on what one is supposed to to instead.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks...

Robert,

Questions of deprecation come up a lot on the Apple mailing lists.  If you will, please let me help you focus your questions a bit.

My first comment, one often made on these Apple's mailing lists in situations such as yours, is that deprecated does not mean gone.  You can continue to use the library, just realize that you will have to find replacement functionality elsewhere.

My second comment is that libraries like the ColorSync manager support quite a lot of functionality. It might be easier for folks to help point you in the right direction if you can be more specific about what functionality your application relies on. Are just using the library to discover the set of Color profiles on the system and present them in a list to the user?  Are you creating color sampling hardware to calibrate monitors and match them to high-end image setters through the creation of custom profiles?  What specific functionality would your application lose if the ColorSync Manager library did disappear tomorrow?
