All labels purchased on Pirate Ship come with a valid USPS or UPS tracking number. If you are expecting a package from a shipper who uses Pirate Ship, there are a few ways to track your package on its way to you ? We've listed those below.
Track Domestic Packages on the USPS & UPS Websites: For any recipients within the United States, you can follow along with your package by typing your tracking number into the USPS tracking portal, or into the UPS tracking portal.
Track International Packages on the USPS & UPS Websites: For international recipients, you'll still need to use the USPS tracking portal or the UPS tracking portal to follow along with your package ?
Track AHOY Packages with Asendia USA: If the tracking number you received begins with "AHOY," this means your sender used our special international service Simple Export Rate to buy the shipping label for your package.
In this case, you can track your package by pasting the "AHOY" tracking number into the Asendia USA tracking portal. This "AHOY" number is the singular door-to-door tracking number and the only one you need to follow along with ?
Delivery Tracking Numbers in Your Country: When your shipment arrives in your country and clears customs, either your country's postal service or a local carrier will deliver the package to you. At that point, the Asendia tracking page will also display a Delivery Tracking Number that you can use to track your package inside your country.
Missing or Late Packages: If you believe your package may be missing or arriving late, the best course of action is to contact your shipper. This way, they may be able to send you a replacement or file an insurance claim (if applicable).
Pirate Ship Doesn't Handle Any Packages: Pirate Ship only supplies shipping labels and doesn't handle any packages, so we unfortunately can't provide too much help in this case. All we can look up is the same tracking information you can on either the USPS and UPS portals or on the Asendia USA tracking pages ?
I have many packages starting the end of Feb that have tracking and are delivered actually already and still showing in pre-transit. I had a perfect star seller average for the last year and now it is taking a nose dive. Is Etsy not accepting tracking numbers from other carriers. I use pirate ship. Honestly I was having an issue one day with shipping and had to use Etsy labels and are now getting charge adjustments on those. Won't be using them anymore. It's almost impossible to get any help with any situation with Etsy Chat. First time I have been frustrated with Etsy since starting in Nov '21. I mean come on. Is someone looking into this?
I just went and checked a USPS package shipped March 3 says pre transit on Etsy but on the USPS website that package says it was delivered. Come on Etsy, fix this! I will say that when I purchase on Pirateship (for UPS mostly), through integrated shipping --- those seem to have not as much problem. This is annoying at the least, why is it not being addressed by Etsy????
I buy my shipping labels through pirateship and they upload automatically. They have been doing that perfectly fine for a while now. after i ship my items the tracking is all uploaded. but now I looked at my tracking report and there's a bunch that say no tracking uploaded. when I try to input the tracking number again it says in use by a different seller. It keeps dropping my rating but I'm not sure what to do, it just keeps happening.
We use Pirate Ship pretty much exclusively and have had the same issue crop up, although only on about 4-6 orders out of hundreds so it hasn't had any real impact on our ratings. We contacted eBay and they seemed to know about it as there was an existing service tag that they added us to. I was wildly speculating with the rep on the phone as to whether they ran out of tracking numbers and were recycling old ones quicker than eBay's validation system was set up for.
Probably a good possibility of that since eBay does not directly link to the USPS tracking system but pulls the data into their own repository. If USPS is not showing an issue logically the problem is with eBay.
It is a known glitch with Ebay. The same thing has been happening with us. We opened a tech request ticket, but there is no resolution yet. We have had a buyer take advantage and open a payment dispute, which we cannot respond to without a tracking number (we get the same error message). Our tracking number shows delivered, but we can't upload it. I've even had confirmation from a supervisor who was able to confirm that the tracking number is not associated with any other item or seller on eBay. We're using eBay labels until this is resolved, and calling customer service or contacting ebay for business to document any issues that arise.
This just happened to me today for the first time. I also use Pirate Ship, then noticed in eBay that the USPS tracking number wasn't uploaded. I tried manually and got the "Tracking number added is already used by a different seller" message. When entering the number on the USPS website, the pre-shipment information is correct.
You can enter the tracking number with a "0" at the front but I don't think that will count for TRS seller metrics ("uploaded on time and validated") because I don't think it will credit you with a carrier scan.
Thank you. I already voided it on Pirate Ship and printed another label out on eBay, although I somehow overlooked the setting there to change it to a 4x6 format. The tracking information shows as it should now in "Orders." I guess the glitch is occasional and has been around for awhile.
6 items and counting since may. every time i contact ebay they tell me its a different issue and someone will contact me with a fix for the problem. another 45 minutes on chat with them today answering all the exact same questions and i know no one will contact me to fix the problem.
all of a sudden after almost a month of rejecting the tracking numbers 4 of the items accepted it which now show as "added late". This is 100% an ebay issue and they dont know whats happening so they keep trying to blame other people.

You can export your orders from the orders list for your website, add the shipping details, and then upload the completed file to Pirate Ship. You then download the shipping file with tracking numbers from Pirateship and add the tracking numbers to the individual orders on your site.
I am just starting out and trying to figure out how this all works. I understand the basic concept of setting up shipping, but I was under impression that the upgrade I did included real-time shipping, but it doesn't. so if i use pirate ship, my everyday shipping I use, how do I set up shipping when they don't offer option? I am a gift shop that does vinyl, sublimation, resin, etc. Varying product sizes ?
For Online ordering you would need to know the Size Length, Width, and Height of each Item you wanted to ship after it is placed in a Shipping box and its weight. Since yours are all different Weights and Sizes this would be difficult to setup. Since you have used Pirate Ship for your Retail stores shipments, you could look up the sizes of Boxes you have shipped and get ideas for the weight's and sizes of your shipments. For my online store I need to fill in the size and weights of each item and the over size of a shipping boxes and the amount of candles that can fit in the different boxes. This works for the most part but every once and a while for the smaller Items I make my shipping rates a little lower than the calculated ones because shipping would be more than the Item itself.
This is why some online sellers figure out an average shipping cost and include that in their Online stores price then offer "Free Shipping" or they will calculate Shipping costs on an average and charge that rate for shipping that Item. The closer customers might be over charged and the farthest away might be under charged, which should balance out in the end.
