New Dev UI

Hi Extension developers.

You might know by now that we are migrating to a new Dev UI for Quarkus 3. The initial PR that contains the core part of this Dev UI Framework has been merge and you can start working on migrating your extensions over to the new Dev UI.

I've created an issue here, please add to it if I missed something, and edit when you are busy with / completed the migration so that we do not duplicate effort.

I am updating the above playlist as soon as new features are added.

You can also re-think what/how your extension takes part in Dev UI, as certain things are now possible that was not previously. For example it's now easier to stream data (live) to the screen to update the value(s) as it happens without the user needing to refresh and you can also now add to the bottom log if you have log related items to display.

I am running 3.0.0.Alpha5 and when I try and hit the new Dev UI my browser just spins and spins.  I can reach the old Dev UI still.  any thoughts?

Hello,

The old dev ui is still under /q/dev. The new one is under /q/dev-ui. Note that this will change when we approach GA.

Can you open an issue about your problem and indicate the browser (and version) you are using? We know we are using a feature only recently added to browsers (import map), but we are providing a polyfill for the older browsers (not sure the PR was merged before the Alpha5).

Watched all your videos and loved them.  Did you post your Jokes project code somewhere?  I find it easier to cut and paste code  than to keep rewatching the videos. :)

also I have a couple of feature suggestions I guess I should ask on Zulip if that is easier.
