Quarkus Working Group Activity – February 2026

Hi Team,

The February activity report for the Quarkus Working Groups is now live. We’ve seen significant movement this month, particularly around Quarkus 4 and enhanced support for the latest Java features.

Key achievements this month include:

• Java 25: No more serious outstanding issues.

• Quarkus 4: The vision, roadmap and tracking are shaping up nicely.

• AOT: Major progress on Project Leyden integration for faster startup times.

out of curiosity, is there a refined estimated timeframe for Quarkus 4 (back in last devoxx belgium, I heard end of this year)?
when will you update https://github.com/quarkusio/quarkus/wiki/Release-Planning

will there be a last 3.x LTS before 4?

Yes, you can see the proposed schedule on https://github.com/quarkusio/quarkus/discussions/52020. 

We will update the Release-Planning page when we have a more concrete plan.

There will be 3.3x LTS in fall, as planned. After that, we will see if we extend the lifecycle  of this LTS (3.x will overlap with 4.x for a few months), or if need to do more 3.x releases. It will depend on the payload. Again, it’s a bit too soon to give a definitive answer.
