The Scalper Trend Filter sets another condition on the order entry
triggers by using a Fast Period Moving Average against another Fast
Moving Average with a 1 bar shift. The stock Moving Average Period
used for this “MA Shift Cross” is 5. The bar shift however can be
varied by an adder up to a three bar shift which works sequentially up
to a 3 and then starts over. The reasoning for doing this really
escapes me. Anything more than a 1 bar shift on a fast period MA can
get quite extreme and move trigger points by the same bar distance as
the shift. How they determined that moving the shift from order to
order would improve order trigger conditions also escapes me.

However the idea of using a secondary filter on the primary indicator
conditions I think is a good idea. For the most part the primary “RSI
Cross” that triggers the orders is getting the trigger positions close
to the top or bottom of short reversals. The addition of a Fast MA
Shift Cross would assure that the orders are placed in the right
direction with the trend reversal. The current recommendation is to
leave the Scalper_TrendFilter Input set at TRUE.
