Today was a good day because I put a deposit down and a truly mint and beautiful 2+2. Tomorrow I shall be going to the bank to withdraw the funds for the car and then I will be going to fetch it. I am happier than the last 8 in a being happy competition. think  I had better join the QOC and get in touch with Adrian Flux ASAP :D

Well - yesterday was a great day!

Adrian Flux insured it for £135 fully comp! Result I reckon.... 
I hitched a lift with a friend of mine to Cheshire - a journey of 64 miles from where I live. We got to Freds house and he invited us in for a very welcome cup of tea while we sorted out the details. 

The car looked fantastic with its matching yellow top now fitted ready for the journey. I paid the money we did all the paperwork. Freds wife was  visibly moved to see the car go as I reversed it off the drive.

The car on the road feels lovely and solid - only suffering a little from those slightly bigger wheels and lower profile tyres making the lanes changes a little skittish over the white lines and very heavy to manoevre at low speed. It ran beautifully and never missed a beat all the way home. the engine sounds nice but I really miss the rasp of the Magnex that I had on mine so I will be on the lookout for one of those from now on.

A really lovely little car that I intend to thoroughly enjoy.

Thanks to Fred for a lovely deal and congratulations to him on an absolutely superb build! The car is indeed a credit to the man!

Hi Andy

My family are not yet members of the owners club as My H4 was off the road for over a year but it was our intention to join as the car has just been repaired and MOT'd, and to get back on the road etc..

I have just tried to get a Quote, from Footman James for my son who is 19, but apparently they will not quote for a kit car for any driver under 25. This is very frustrating as I had always previously heard that Quantum's were very reasonable to insure for young drivers.

Any advice or alternatives would be most welcome.

Andrew,

Unfortunately Footman James has taken the decision to stop insuring young drivers on kit and classic car policies, so we no longer have our fixed price deal.  However, Andy has been working with Adrian Flux who will look at each individual case for young drivers.  Further details are available on the club website for members, plus in Quantum Mechanics.

It could be worth joining the club for these discounts alone?

I wish I could say the same. After reading that they do a multicar policy I enquired (wife did) about our 2 Quantums a special 7 type car a Porsche 944 and finally an MX5 and their price was over £100 more than insuring them seperately so its a pointless effort trying to get a good deal from them in our experience.
