Hello!

Just bought a new carb with manual choke, I'm converting from a standard DFT with electric auto choke which has never worked.

I was wondering where the best place to run the choke cable through the front would be? Should I be thinking about drilling through the bulkhead and creating a dedicated hole or is there a sneaky cutout hiding somewhere that I can utilise? Think I'll probably mount it underneath the heater controls opposite the fag lighter as there is a little cutout. Although if anyone can suggest anything better (eg easier!) I'm open to suggestions.

Existing 32DFT Carb will be available for any reasonable offer if anyone is interested btw.

WOO! Three weeks to Stoneleigh.

Apart from looking to see if there's an existing hole, the best advice is to
drill one in an appropriate place. As for mounting the choke control, there
is a dedicated place to the left of the steering column!

If you are using a mk2 dash then you may only find a blanking panel ,the choke cable mount was only fitted to some cars.

The pre 1986 Mk2 Fiestas with manual choke had a neat little pod that the cable goes in under the dash as Paul said.
It's nice for mounting the electric mirror control in if you don't use it for a choke.
You can see it here through the right hand spokes of the steering wheel. (i think it not looking straight is the camera angle.
The one on the right is where the joystick went for the speaker mixer.

I fed mine through the hole with the Accel cable, not great but it worked and I didn’t have a lot of time, also a complete sod to do........
I have the knob coming through the mounting on the left. BUT when I had to take the dash out a few years later I had to cut a slot in the dash so I could feed the cable through it and lift the dash out.

Thanks Jim - I don't have that pod - but i do have a defunct speaker mixer. Seems like a good candidate. Those clocks look great!
