So I had a go at removing it this eve, thought I was doing ok, took the engine mounts off etc, but I just couldn't work out how on earth to get the gearbox off of it's rear mount.  there is no space to lift it up and over.

any one by some miracle have a photo of the gearbox mount in the v8 xtreme?

(Chris F !?  ps thanks for the time on the phone the other day if you have a min to chat and don't mind emailing me your number I could perhaps give you a quick call)

cheers

Chris

I managed to get it out!

Chris F - I could see no way to remove the remote in situ, (if you did you must be a magician!) so I ended up cutting the rubber on the rear gearbox mount, which was looking a bit ropey anyway, I then levered the box over the remaining rubber lip, undid the bellhousing bolts, they are nice too, 2 of which you can't get a socket over!, then gearbox back down the tunnel, separate the 2 and just get the engine out.

getting it back in will be fun ! but that is a while off yet.  And definiatly not something I will be doing in the dark by myself!

On my gearbox mount , I welded two nuts n for the M8 bolts to avoid the double jointed monkey game.
