Electroplating.

Does anybody happen to have a home Zinc Electroplating setup ?

I have a part a small mild steel part (about 25 x 20 x 60 mm OD ) i’ve made for 003 that could really do with electroplating rather than painting.

Need it done ASAP so i can continue the assembly.

 

I can send it to you by DPD and arrange for it to come back the same way.

 

The electroplating setup is on my to buy list but at the moment i don’t really have space to store all the buckets of chemicals and there is only this 1 part i need to do.

Have you a blow-lamp, some flux and solder?  I’ve successfully ‘plated’ parts using this method. It requires that the part doesn’t have a large mass though, as it will draw too much heat to make the ‘plating’ possible.
