Kshitij 2009 ( Math Olympiad online prelims on 7th January )

 Kshitij, the annual techno-management fest of IIT kharagpur, brings to you a gamut of events in the fields of technology and management along with a number of workshops, enriching guest lectures and awe-inspiring mega shows. The fest, the largest of its kind in Asia ,draws participation from all over India and even abroad .Kshitij  boasts of a prize money of over thirty five lakhs and its association with corporate giants like Nokia, GE, Google, Adobe, Mentor Graphics, etc., which profoundly sponsor it in light of it unmatched credentials . Year after year, we expand our horizon and endeavour to ensure that innovative thoughts and ideas get every opportunity to realize their potential, release it and rise with it.Kshitij 2009 is going to be held between 29th January and 1st February. Kshitij opportunes Students from all over India to exhibit their dexterity at Mathematics. The events Math Olympiad provide ample scope for all such future mathematicians to showcase their talent. The event is the simulation of International Math Olympiad.  The structure of the event is given below in short.

Math Olympiad:

The event is the simulation of International Math Olympiad. The event is held in 2 Rounds. The first Round being Online.
The first online round will be conducted on 7^th January 2009.  Time: 8pm-10pm.
In the first Round

·         Teams will have to answer the 12 objective questions given, during the given time slot. The rules and regulations are given on KSHITIJ website.

·         Prelims will be purely objective and 20 teams would be shortlisted for round 2.

·         Final round will be held in adherence to International math Olympiad format. Final round will be completely subjective.

·         Course content 2^nd Round:

Algebra
Number theory
Combinotorics
Geometry

·         The questions in the prelims will be based on General Math Olympiad syllabus and not the Engineering mathematics.
