Hello to my cert. week group members.........it seems like forever
since we spoke. How is everyone doing? What is new and exciting?
Please drop us a line to tell us how your year is going. I've been
busy with the books and lots to do for them.......not sure if you saw
the article in the Glasser newsletter but check it out in case you
didn't....it will give you an update as to what has been going on. I
also heard back from the publisher in the U.S. so now I have LOTS of
questions to get answered to decided how to move forward with things.

Christmas is fast approaching and I'm sure you are all swamped but
please post something to let us know how you are making out. Take
care!!!!

Diane.

Well Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays! I'm so excited for all that
Diane is doing; that's GREAT! Things have been crazy busy at LMU, but
we've made some major strides in our work here. In October, we hosted
a special reception for Masaki Kakatani and his wife and the Glassers,
Bob Hoglund, and several students came by. It was really amazing and
Masaki and his wife (and their son, too) had such quality things to
say about business operations at Achievement Corp. in Japan. We also
had our RAs go through a basic week and many of them have been
implementing it quite well and some have plans to go back for their
advanced weeks. To be honest, we still have reached a couple of speed
bumps along the way, still analyzing the proactive applicability and
responses to choice theory in a freshmen residence hall. We did get
news that we are doing this for at least one more year (only supposed
to be for two originally), so hopefully we can smooth those things
out. I think that about covers all of the newness here. Hope all is
well with everyone and look forward to hearing from everyone!

Happy New Year to everyone as well . . . . .

Life is good here in Buffalo.  I've been working hard alongside my other team members who traveled to Nashville this summer to get the language of Choice Theory flowing through our district.  A few of the things we've been focusing on are: 1)book studies with staff and school board members, 2) monthly newsletters from each of the schools with an article about some topic in CT/RT to inform more parents, 3) working on a Choice Theory Family Night for K-8, 4) teaching the aspects of CT/RT through classroom guidance and continued work with our counselor/admin team to show how CT/RT aligns with the direction our district is moving.
Diane - can't wait to see those books out in print . . .

Tom . . . good stuff going on as always - I'm ready for a trip to check it out in person.

MJ - Have you ever published your workbook?  I used it just the other day with a client I have in private practice . . . thank you!

Anyone else going to continue working toward faculty and attend conferences this coming year?

Hope all is well in each of your Quality Worlds!  Love hearing from many of you on facebook.

Hey,
I am so impressed with all that your school system is doing.  I have not had  that much support but i just decided to take it on by myself and I taught Choice Theory to all my 1st-5th classes and they are doing so great with it.  I have posters and bullentin boards up in my room to remind them.  I also use the statements "who's driving your car?" etc. alot to remind them.  Every choice you make impacts you the most and it really makes a difference.  I never received anything from my copyright request but I know that it is in process.  I am still looking to publish and i am working on authoring some other things.
My latest venture now is that I am about to start a part-time outpatient therapist position at Thompson's Child and Family Focus in Charlotte, NC.  I am super excited.  I can not wait to get to the experience and my foot in the agency arena with hopes that i will be able to move in that direction full time in the near future.
I feel honored that you are using my workbook. My sister put it in a better form for me but I still need to find someone to help me get it in publishable form.
Thanks for sharing.  Hope all continues to go well.  MJ
