Hi,

I encountered this error message.

Unrecognized VM option 'MaxPermSize=1024m'
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Java memory size is set to 1200M
Launching application...

I am using  qualimap_v2.3
and java 17 on a debian bookworm

Java version is :
openjdk 17.0.11 2024-04-16
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 17.0.11+9-Debian-1deb12u1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0.11+9-Debian-1deb12u1, mixed mode, sharing)

I have been using previous versions of qualimap with previous versions of java and that went very smoothly.
In anticipation, thank you for your help.

Hi,

the option "MaxPermSize=1024m" is out-date and was more crucial to Oracle Java. In previous versions OpenJDK was only stating warning, but from 1.17 gives an error message. This could be fixed by removing corresponding option from qualimap file. Just in case, I uploaded this working launch command here:

Using it to replace qualimap file should solve the issue.

Best regards,
   Konstantin
