Коли місце Бога в житті народів силяться зайняти армії войовничих гнобителів та вбивць, ненаситних, як смерть, їхня жадоба влади знищує їх, бо люди об'єднуються і долають тиранію та гноблення, не кров'ю та беззаконням на зразок путінського, але пізнанням Господньої слави (Авакума 2:5-14). Лагідні успадкують Землю (від Матвія 5:5); не вовк, а ягня буде світлом у царстві небесному (Об'явлення 21:23). Нагнітання насильства і руйнувань через російську агресивну війну проти України та жорстку мобілізацію не обійшло Друзів стороною, хоча побиті вікна та три штрафи за віру не так страшно, коли інші втрачають домівку, вбиті і поранені балістичними ударами, закатовані до смерті через жорстокі спроби змусити їх змінити релігію. Де знайти натхнення для великої праці любові, яка б залікувала ці рани і змінила світ на краще? У мовчазній молитві Друзі України шукали мир і відвагу у Христі (від Івана 16:33; Авакума 2:20), бо добра людина не боїться звістки лихої, має серце міцне, надію складає на Господа (Псалми 111:7). Знайшлися і добрі новини: квакерські студії просуваються, опубліковані перші результати.

When the place of God in the lives of nations is sought to be taken by armies of militant oppressors and murderers, as insatiable as death, their lust for power destroys them because people unite and overcome tyranny and oppression, not through blood and lawlessness like Putin's, but through the knowledge of the Lord's glory (Habakkuk 2:5-14). The meek shall inherit the Earth (Matthew 5:5); not the wolf, but the Lamb will be the light in the kingdom of heaven (Revelation 21:23). The escalation of violence and destruction caused by the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and the harsh mobilization has not passed the Friends by, although broken windows and three fines for faith are not as terrible when others are losing their homes, killed and wounded by ballistic strikes, or tortured to death due to cruel attempts to force them to change their religion. Where can we find inspiration for the great labor of love that would heal these wounds and change the world for the better? In silent worship, Friends of Ukraine sought peace and courage in Christ (John 16:33; Habakkuk 2:20), for a good people do not fear bad news, have steadfast hearts, and place their trust in the Lord (Psalms 112:7). There was also good news brought: Quaker studies are progressing, and the first results have been published.
