    Dear f&Friends,

Last December I received this message:

I am Chris Roberts' wife, Deedy. Chris died on December 10th of this year.
He so enjoyed his correspondence with all of you. It was one of his windows
to the world. He had long suffered from respiratory problems and his going
was peaceful. I sign off from this with a wish for peace to all of you.

She left it to me to pass her message on to you.

I received the message because Chris had become a member of the Quaker Faith
and Fellowship forum (www.quakerfaithandfellowship.org) in April 2012 after
I had met him in Philadelphia in July 2010.
    His profile introduction there was:

Hello Friends. Wim Nusselder has invited me to join. I'm a member of Newton
Meeting in Camden, NJ and a participant on Quaker-b

He had been an active participant in Quaker-B (Chris originated from
    Britain).
It is that active participation on Quaker-B (and maybe e-correspondence with
me) that Deedy probably refers to as "one of his windows to the world".
His becoming a member of QF&F related to the steady decrease in activity on
Quaker-B (and my suggestion that QF&F might serve as an alternative).

Upon my suggestion Deedy asked me to also post a message about his decease
    here.

I will remember Chris as a kind, humorous and gentle man with a keen
interest in everything Quakerly and a weak spot for engineering (his
occupation before retirement) and water management (which provided a link
    with me as Dutchman).

    With f&Friendly greetings,

    Wim

    Dear Wim,

It is very good of you to let us all know of Chris's death.

I shall hold Deedy in the Light.

    In Friendship,

    Mary.

Sad news indeed, Wim.  Chris was a vital part of this group and a warm and supporting personality within it.  I will miss him.  Thank you for letting us know.
