Dear Forum Members,
I have a favor to ask. I need volunteers that will proofread for me my English translation of Edouard Hugon's Cursus Philosophiae Thomisticae, Ia-IIae: Cosmologia (tentative English title: "Introduction to Scholastic Thomism": Ia-IIae: Cosmology), which will be submitted for publication in early December to Editiones Scholasticae. I took great pains to make sure the translation is accurate and technical, but I need help making sure my English is smooth and idiomatic (English is my second language). So I don't need you to check it against the Latin, but only to give it a casual read and flag any glaring grammatical and/or errors, any phrases or expressions that are not clear, places where the text does not flow right, places where I may have skipped a line, repeated a line, etc.
I would need this done by December 1st. In gratitude, I would include your name in the acknowledgments page at the beginning of the volume. I would also be happy to send you electronically a copy of any volume from ITOPL. Plus, what is most valuable of all, you will learn lots from Hugon's manual, which is especially good because of his thoroughly scholastic style (theses, proofs, objections, replies, distinctions, etc.) as well as his faithful synthesis of the positions traditionally defended by the Thomistic commentators (e.g., Capreolus, Cajetan, John of St. Thomas, Banez, etc.).
