Hi Fred

I’m currently having a strange problem with my Quadstick. When I press the lip button (which is the equivalent of the X button on the Ps5 controller) it stays engaged for 2 seconds, evident by the first red light staying on the Quadstick. Once the red light goes off I can use it again, but when I press the lip button again, it repeats the same thing.

Now I thought perhaps I may have changed the accessibility options on the Ps5, or the game I am playing, but when I checked they were not changed. To confirm that I hadn’t, when I press the X button on the Ps5 it works normally, although it does the same thing if I press the lip button on the Quadstick first.

I will add, when I first turn on the Ps5 with the Quadstick plugged into the Ps5 via the brook wingman FGC2, it asks if I want to update the Ps5 controller. However, when I start the Ps5 with only the Ps5 controller it doesn’t ask if want to update the controller. This prompted me to check if the controller is updated, and it is.

One more curious thing, the Quadstick lip button works fine for a few minutes when I first use it, then goes back to being engaged for 2 seconds again.

It is a curious problem. I hope you can help.

Thanks Fred

Ray

It looks like you have more than one lip button in the order history.  Have you tried swapping out different lip buttons to see if that fixes the problem?

If the plug is not fully inserted into the jack, that could cause a problem.

You could play around with the lip sensor preference settings:

The default values for lip_position_minimum is 8, and lip_position_maximum is 35.  Try taking them all the way up to 95 & 100 if you are using a type 3 sensor.  See if that helps it turn off faster.

Save a backup copy of your prefs.csv file before making any changes.

If you are running QMP, send in a debug report.  I'll post the instructions below.

To fix the controller update message, update the FGC2 firmware to the most recent NON-BETA firmware:  https://bkg.brookaccessory.com/BrookUpdate/update.html

Send in a debugging report with QMP:
  1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
  2. Start QMP
  3. Wait 20 seconds
  4. Click in the Transcript pane at the bottom of the window.
  5. Press F1 key
  6. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
  7. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
  8. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.
