The problem with making a Besavior compatible configuration profile the power up default is the Quadstick will no longer work with a PC when first plugged in and if you are not careful you could be in a situation that forces you to completely erase all the profiles and preferences in the quadstick's memory to regain the ability to make future changes to the configuration.
Before you make any changes, copy all the CSV files from your Quadstick to a folder on your computer. That way, if things go badly, you can quickly recover and you have a known good set of configuration files to go back to.
To make a configuration file the power on default, we rename its CSV file to default.csv.
Using Windows file Explorer:
- Rename the current default.csv to something like zdefault.csv.
- "z", or even "zz" at the beginning of the filename will usually put it as the last configuration file so you can select it quickly with one swipe to the left when in file selection mode.
- Rename the CSV file of your desired configuration to default.csv.
- for instance: beloader-basic.csv to default.csv
- in a few seconds, the new default.csv will automatically load and the Quadstick will disconnect from the computer and reconnect in USB mode 7, or whatever.
To make future changes to the configuration with a PC running QMP, after power up, use the side tube to start the file selection, swipe to the left, press the lip button. The Quadstick should load what was the old default.csv and reconnect to the PC will mouse, keyboard, and flash drive available.
Once you are happy with the config files, make a new backup of your CSV files to your PC. You can completely reconfigure the Quadstick for different situations by having multiple sets of configuration files.
