I have been a quad stick user for almost 10 years. In that time, I have never had the default configuration work. I am trying again but still nothing.

When I add other files, they seem to work as advertised but the default has never worked. Any ideas?

Thanks

Jim.

Send a link to the spreadsheet.  It is probably just a bad value in a cell somewhere that prevents it from being read properly.  It is very picky about certain cells in the spreadsheet.

Or you can send in a debug report and I can look at it that way:

How to send in a debugging report with QMP:
  1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
  2. Start QMP
  3. Wait 20 seconds
  4. Click in the Transcript pane at the bottom of the window.
  5. Press F1 key
  6. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
  7. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
  8. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.

Hi, Fred.

Thanks for your response, Peria. Here is the spreadsheet I am using for the default. As you can tell, I have tried to modify it but no luck. I don't know how I modified it nor do I seem to have the original default.

I cannot find the QMP program to do the debug. Is it separate or is it actually part of the quad stick program?

Thanks again,

Jim

I found the original default and downloaded it to my quadstick, and it does not work either.

Hope you can help.

Jim

The first cell A1 of each sheet tells the quadstick what kind of sheet it is, so they can only contain certain "key" words.

The value in cell A1 needs to be "Profile Name".  In fact, if you hover the cursor over the red triangle it will display an error message:

The second and third sheets also need to be fixed.   Those cells are blank.  The other mode sheets have the correct value.

The last sheet needs to have "Sip Puff Reference Card" in cell A1 to prevent the Quadstick from trying to use it.

Cell A2 of the first sheet determines the name the CSV file will have.  If you want it to be the default, rename it to default.csv.  You can also leave that cell as is, then rename the CSV with the Windows file manager once you have tested you file and are comfortable making it the default.

QMP is the Quadstick Manager Program that you are using.

You should check your other custom spreadsheets, too.

Thanks for that. I sent you the original default for the quad stick and it has never worked. Is there a mistake in that one somewhere?

What does "never worked" mean?  That configuration spreadsheet has been mostly unchanged for more than ten years.

If you are running the original Default Configuration on a PC, go to https://test.quadstick.com and if you move the joystick and sip/puff and you should see values changing on the screen.

It may not be the best default configuration file for you, but that is different than it not working as designed.   That spreadsheet was made when the PS3 was the only supported console.

Most PC users should probably use a mouse based configuration as their default.   Mouse2, with the CSV file renamed from mouse.csv to default.csv so it runs at power up.

Okay, I have finally found one that works. I am using this file.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MGJoW8p0qbxN9TA9pdqmtv7lSM5fzH5-izkI8x_n6Ts/edit?usp=sharing

I did not realize there are so many default files in the list. I tried a few and this one does what I need. Oh, yes. When I mean it never worked, I mean I never managed to get it to work since I started using my quad stick. I made my own mouse file, which was essentially a copy, but it seemed to work if I put it in place two.

I'm sure I should have emailed earlier, but I had a workaround that was working.

I am still trying to set up my flight simulator. Attached is the file I am using. Right now, I can only access the first two sheets of the file. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Really appreciate your help.

I downloaded this one from your Quadstick factory, but I cannot get it to work at all. Again, am I missing something?

Thanks for all your help on this. I really appreciate it.

Modes 3,4,5 & 6 won't do anything since they are all keyboard+mouse outputs, but the Preferences sheet puts the quadstick into XBox 360 USB mode, which has no keyboard or mouse outputs.  It is only a game controller and no mouse or keyboard.

Even if the USB mode was not a problem, this won't work:

The moment mode 3 becomes active, it will throw you right back to mode 1.  mp_center_puff_soft will always be less_than_1 since the only way to get to mode 3 is via a right_sip in mode 2.  right_sip and mp_center_puff_soft cannot both be active at the same time.  mp_center_puff_soft would need to be already active before entering mode 3 for this to make any sense at all.

A sip_puff_threshold of 1 is not a usable value.  The normal value is 40.

I was wondering if that was the issue. It didn't make sense to me that you could change modes halfway through. I will keep trying to modify it in a different way. Thanks again for all your help. Slowly but surely, I move forward.
