New User- Issue with soft sip/puff output

I got my new Quadstick and I am having difficulties with activating soft sip/ puff. Also, hit or miss activating the PS button to move the joystick. How long is the soft sip/puff. See attachments below.

Are you holding the soft sip until you hear a beep?   It takes a full second by default.

If you hear a click, you are sip/puff-ing too hard.  It should make a tone while in the "soft" range to let you know you are applying the correct pressure, then beep after one second.

A lot of people like to shorten the delay time to around 250-300 ms.

I'd recommend turning off "Enable swap inputs with side tube" for now.  That is a seldom used feature.

Was the quadstick plugged in when QMP was started for that screen shot?  It needs to be plugged in first, then start QMP, make your changes, then save preferences to the quadstick.

I recommend saving a copy of the existing CSV files to a folder on your computer's drive before making changes to make it easy to recover to a known working state from any configuration problems.

Thanks Fred! I I unchecked the box, change the low to 300ms and turned the volume up to 80. It works now and I can hear the beap

There is another delay that only applies to the side tube delay when selecting a new file:

That one is a lot longer to allow the side tube to generate three separate signals on one sip.  If can still be used with regular hard and soft in a configuration and only trigger the load_file function when the hard sip is held a long time.  It [prevents accidently triggering the load_file function unless you really mean it.

The equivalent configuration row would be:

load_file, delay_on 2400, right_sip

That is available regardless of the configuration file as long as the "Enable select file with side tube" setting is on.
