The QuadStick FPS uses a larger joystick module than the original model QuadStick.  The QuadStick FPS joystick offers a stronger, more definite, centering spring and feel.  It is also more rugged.

Note: This joystick requires more force to move than the original joystick and may not be the best choice for users who have reduced strength in their lips.

Any original QuadStick ordered since the beginning of October 2016 can be upgraded to a QuadStick FPS w/ Bluetooth for $150.  QuadSticks ordered prior to October 1st, can be upgraded to the FPS model for $200.

Nice Fred!! I think I might upgrade my QS, how much more force do you need to move the joystick? like double the original? also the mouthpiece looks like the center hole is shorter in length than the one I' am use too, will I be able to use the original mouthpiece with the FPS QS?

The mouthpiece dimensions are the same at the mouth end for both models.  The pictures of the original quadstick are with the narrow mouthpiece and the pictures of the FPS are with a wide mouthpiece.

I will measure the difference in the force required and let you know how they compare.

Matt Victor, and a couple of others, have been testing prototypes for several months.  He's been using the original quadstick for more than two years and he immediately liked the feel of the new one better.  He has a C1-2 injury and uses just his lips for moving the joystick.

Hey Fred! There is not an option in the store for upgrade, what is the best way to place an order? Thank you, Chris

I have a version with softer springs. But I'll change to the stronger spring too. It's definitely a new feeling and for me it's better.
At the beginning it was a little bit tricky to get especially my pc mouse under control. A few minutes later with small changes in the joystick settings (In comparison to the "old" QuadStick) everything was fine and I got a good control.
