Hi all, it's me again

I've been working with my uncle in getting his QS set up on his iMac over the last week and we keep running headfirst into a wall. We've been trying to get Dirt 4 (on Steam) to play nice with the QS but so far the game doesn't seem to recognize the inputs. This is the first game we are attempting to get working for him (next will be Fishing Planet!) as it has a minimal number of required inputs to work. I've taken the default Forza 5 profile that was included on the QS and edited the bindings a bit to match the differences in Dirt.

In-game, the steering control settings actually recognize the QS as a device, but the inputs listed are shown as "1, 2, 3, 4" etc. and not Xbox inputs as I'd expected. I did a little digging and found info about Macs not being able to recognize Xbox controllers without a driver being installed, so I also downloaded and installed this 3rd party driver in the hopes that it would help kick things through, but still no luck! We're both a bit frustrated in trying to get this working and I don't really have a good way to test if the inputs are being recognized correctly as X360CE is not compatible with Mac.

Am I wasting time with the Xbox controller scripts? Should I be building scripts that work solely off of keyboard and mouse outputs? There isn't a lot of information in the QS documentation concerning Macs as far as I can tell, so I'm hoping someone might have some more insight into what needs to be done to get this working...

Thanks again for the assist, you guys really rock!

The default USB game controller emulation is not suitable for most PC/Mac games.   By default the Quadstick's game controller interface is a PS3 console compatible emulation.   Some PC games can use it, but most, by far, are made for XBox 360/XBox One controllers.

If you just loaded the Forza 5 profile, it won't work.  The USB emulation mode will need to be set for "XBox 360 for PC" mode by adding a Preferences sheet to configure the quadstick for that emulation when that game file is selected.

Example:  XBox 360 for PC
You can copy sheets from one spreadsheet to another, so if you copy that Preferences sheet over to your own copy of the Forza 5, that would probably give you a good starting point.

i made a copy and added emulation 3 in preferences tab, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P6KQH3rGpk0c5-LjoVGrdcJWyOo8NGUoS4TbhAYqrA8/edit?usp=sharing

its going to make the QS into XB and i positive that steam supports XB controls
