sip / puff for mouse_wheel_up / mouse_wheel_down?

Can I use mouse_wheel_up / mouse_wheel_down without an up / down stick, only using sip / puff?

like 

mouse_wheel_up	normal	mp_left_puff
mouse_wheel_down	normal	mp_left_sip

That should work.  

Try lowering the Max Pressure and High Pressure Threshold settings on the sip/puff tab in the QMP.

A "hard" sip/puff starts at the High Pressure Threshold, but the analog value will be low, near 0-1%.  It can take a lot more pressure to get up to where the wheel starts to react.   Lowering those two settings will make it easier to roll the wheel.  The preference names are:

sip_puff_threshold	40	percent	Percent of full scale Pressure to detect Hard Sip/Puff
sip_puff_maximum	70	percent	Percent of full scale Pressure to scale into 100% button push pressure

Also check your PC's mouse settings.  There are adjustments for how sensitive the wheel is.

Make sure you are running the latest firmware, 2134. 

Do you have access to a Windows PC for making changes?  I see you referring to the Mac in other emails.  If you can't run Windows, the instructions for updating the firmware manually can be found down at the bottom of this page.   There have been three firmware updates since the date of you first email, which I assume is about when you got your quadstick.

Yes thank you. I first thing updated the firmware to 2134 and run Windows and QMP on a virtual machine.

I will try to change these settings,

Looks ok.  Column B is ignored for preferences in mode sheets, so you can leave it as "normal".  The error marks for the numbers in column C are OK.

Frequently when someone has trouble with a configuration spreadsheet, the problem is some error somewhere else in the sheet, so it is helpful to share the URL of the spreadsheet when asking for help instead of snippets of cells.

It works. But is it possible to configure it so that sip/ puff gives the command only for the minimum value of the mouse wheel rotation?

Try using a short pulse for the wheel:

mouse_wheel_down	pulse 100	mp_left_puff
mouse_wheel_up	pulse 100	mp_left_sip

Play with the pulse width to get the response you want.
