Hey guys,

I'm thinking to try The Witcher 3. This is a new genre for me, but I read a lot of good feedbacks of this game.
But what would you say is better: PS4 or PC (Steam)?

For the PC version I noticed it would be much easier to play it with a gamepad.
What are your experiences, especially for the steam version? Any gameplay problems or something like that, or is it quite fun as I read? ;)

Thanks

Hi Dennis,

I am loving The Witcher 3 on my PS4 using the default profile on my QuadStick

Definitely not a game with little children are around :-) 18+ lots of language for any gratuitous violence especially some rather good fun finishing moves animations.

I like it on the PS4 as I run it through my home theatre system in my bedroom so it's a totally immersive way you have people & monsters around you. Scared the crap out of me a couple of times when you have a large Beast come out of nowhere.

One that made my carer and I Turn our heads very quickly and say what did she just say a prostitute from within the game said "fancy a F@#K" We had a good chuckle and then another one says "you would lookEffing amazing, on top of Me"

I really enjoyed Skyrim & this game takes it to a whole new level, Another reason I like it as you don't have to be a crack shot with a gun to take down your enemy.

I hope that enlightened you some. If you have any questions within the game please don't hesitate to drop me a line

Cheers Richard

Hi Richard,

thanks for your quick and helpful report. =)
Hehe yeah I heard about some "special" conversations, videos and the detailed fight. But here are no children around so it's ok. ^^

So on PS4 are no problems.
Now I need a feedback for the PC (steam) version. ;-) (There it's in Sale for 50% till 12th Feb)

Richard, I'm trying to play tombraider on ps4, it's my 1st time using quad stick and I don't know how to start.
How did you learn to use the quad stick?

I haven't played that one but I have played destiny and I am starting to play Witcher 3 and I think utilizing in game tutorial and spending some time just walking around in game pressing different controls and seeing what happens really helps… At least for me. Persistence is key when it comes to this. Good luck Ken

Hi Ken,

I agree with Kasey about not getting into anything difficult straight away, how I learned to play & used my QuadStick was by playing Skyrim which was a basic but enjoyable game well not really basic but I familiarise myself with the buttons. I also laminated the control speaks and had it mounted up above me so that I could now whenever I wanted.

I have never played for tried tomb raider yet .

I like the mediaeval genres like skyrim & The witcher will get into the shooters style games one day.

As Kasey said "Patience is the key :-) "

I am a C4/C5 Quad limited movement with bicep movement enough our movement to feed myself with a specialised splint on my wrist to keep it straight, but after a meal my arm is knackered with no Strength left in it at all :-)

My next foray I might get into learning how to incorporate Dragon naturally speaking to help my in harder games

Cheers Richard

@Kasey
Have you started playing Witcher 3 yet? And for XBox, PS4 or PC (Steam?)?

did you have a layout printed out like lets say X is lip or circle is middle center puff? Like in the default configuration attached?
I am looking at the first column it says profile name left joy, I'm really eager to play but I don't know how controls will work.
Fred suggested I try to play journey on ps4 to start out.
And what the heck is d-pad

Dennis I just started playing Witcher yesterday I've only got about an hour and a half in on PlayStation 4.

Ken I didn't have anything printed out but sometimes I have my computer nearby so I can be on the spreadsheet looking at the profiles and I can remind myself what does what. The d-pad is the 4 buttons on the left-hand side of the controller similar to what you would use for directional control on a regular Nintendo. I've never heard of journey but I guess I'll have to check it out.

Ok guys, my "problem" is solved.
Luckily I noticed that my Geforce GTX 675MX unfortunately is (WTF!!!) less than the minimum system requirement. So I think it's better to get it for ps4.
I look forward to kick some bad ass. ^^
Thanks everyone. =)

Ken, here you can see what the d-pad (and everything else) is from ps controller.
