Hello Fred,

HIDhide no longer works for me, I already tried this https://groups.google.com/g/quadstick/c/h6MJrC_NSAw/m/-g50mQkuAgAJ but it didn't help either, I reinstalled Qmp 4.03 together with VIGEmBus driver and HIDHide and that doesn't help either,

Regards,
Jeremy Kersten

Send in a debug report.  I think this is a bug in QMP.

How to send in a debugging report with QMP:
  1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
  2. Start QMP
  3. Wait 20 seconds
  4. Click in the Transcript pane at the bottom of the window.
  5. Press F1 key
  6. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
  7. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
  8. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.

I had an issue with the HidHide function after I was prompted to do an 'update'.

The only way I could get the Xbox controller to display as 'player 1' on the Gamepad Tester website was to open the dedicated HidHide software and configure it so that the default 'quadstick' was hidden.

It was a finicky process and I still don't fully understand what I did to 'get it right'.

I'll never update the HidHide software again.

Unfortunately the report didn't pick up the error.

Make sure that QMP and the HIDHide Configuration Client never run at the same time.  They will interfere with each other.

When the HID Hide checkbox is disabled and dimmed out, it is because an error is happening in the routine that enables it.   If you shutdown QMP, you should still be able see what the settings are with the HIDHide Configuration Client, then exit that program before starting QMP.

How can I solve this so that I can enable Hidhide again and the Hidhide check box is no longer dimmed?

You can fully control HIDHide via its configuration panel.  The dimmed check box does not mean anything.

Here is a screenshot of the settings I have enabled while my QS is running a script in x360ce mode.HidHide Settings.jpg

You should not be changing the emulation mode of the quadstick.

Remove any preference setting for the emulation mode from the game configs.

The HIDHide configuration window must be closed prior to starting QMP.  The two programs cannot run at the same time. QMP is telling you that in the transcript.

Hi Fred,

I don't typically run both the QMP and HidHide software at the same time.

I only had the two open to show what boxes were enabled and disabled while the QS was in a game script.

It wasn't intended to be used as a guide for the correct way to configure the HidHide interface.

I just thought it might serve as an example of what things a person might need to change if they are experiencing difficulty getting things to work as they used to (as I have previously experienced).

I tried uninstalling QMP, ViGEmBus drivers & HidHide software; and reinstalling all and still experienced no response in games.

It was only after I manually changed the HidHide interface that the QS would work in all games.

With regard to the specific emulation modes in game configs; I didn't know that this was something that should not be done, as the 'emulation preference settings' makes no mention of this.

Also, the factory X360CE Configuration file has this specific setting on the preferences tab.

Because I used this configuration file as the base template for a lot of games, this has just carried over from one script to another. (It was never something I added on my own).

I hope this clarifies any unintended misinformation that I have posted.

The X360CE emulation mode is for the X360CE program.  It is no longer needed.

The Quadstick should basically be in default (mode 0), or Boot in PS4 USB mode (mode 4), or No Flash (mode 6), and not change from that mode, when QMP starts.  It will assume there will be no changes in the USB emulation mode when it sets up HID Hide and everything else.

If the mode changes after QMP starts, HIDHide will be misconfigured.

Understood, I'll change the emulation mode in my scripts to 0 (except the one's for PS4 / 5).
