Xbox Menu joystick settings

Could someone tell what Joystick sensitivity settings you have found to be successful navigating through the Xbox menu? I keep trying different settings and either the joystick will not move through the menu options at all or it will skip 3 or 4 with one movement of the joystick. I've tried deflection minimum and maximum at a bunch of different combinations as well as changing the Dead zone shape. Haven't used my Xbox in over a year and for some reason it's having this problem now. I don't remember ever having this issue before...
