I'm trying to set up a voice command where I can shift using Vocola in a racing simulator, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Can anyone offer some input if they've had experience with anything like this? Here is a screenshot of the errors I'm getting that includes the command I've created

also, I'm not entirely convinced actually set things up in QMP correctly. Everything regarding NatLink and Vocola return solid set up messages (it says everything is working correctly), but I'm not getting any information at all in the right panel under the voice control to add in the Quadstick software. Here is a screenshot of that, to illustrate:

Couple of things:

There is no message in the transcript saying the QMP found a serial connection to the Quadstick.  You need to see "Found a serial connection to Quadstick".

Have you set up the Bluetooth and paired it with the PC?  http://quadstick.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/user_manual/um/settings.htm

What platform is the game played on?  PC or Console?

If console, you most likely you need a VCH file, not a VCL file.  Look at examples for Call of Duty in the natlink/vocola folder.

You will need to attach a copy of your vocola file.  It is very easy to have an error that is hard to see in those files.  Every line and punctuation mark has a meaning.

Okay, I think you pointed me down the correct path. I'm not using a Bluetooth microphone for my Dragon, so I turned on "enable voice commands over USB" and saved that to the QS. It appears I've made progress, as now whenever I issue a verbal command after issuing the "load default" command, my Quadstick gives me audio input. However, it still isn't returning the "found a serial connection to Quadstick". See the attached image

do I still need to see that line even though I'm using a USB connection instead of a Bluetooth one?

also, to answer your other question: iRacing is exclusively PC-based.

On another note, the Quadstick user guide states that whenever the Quadstick is plugged into my PC, I should see a controller output status display on the right side of the QMP. I'mm actually not saying that at all, and haven't ever had it appear. Is that an issue? I've been able to play and test certain games and even uploaded some of my own slightly altered config files without issue. But I've never seen that controller output status area actually filled in.

okay, one more update, I have been able to get the controller output status to display and have been able to get some of the prebuilt voice files to work. But, now I'm back to the original issue of trying to figure out how to write a custom script so I can shift with my voice.

Your first screen shot showed the quadstick was not connected to the PC when QMP started.  That would be normal for console games but you would need a serial connection.

If you are using commands over usb, you will not see the message about the serial port.  You will only see commands and you will not see responses.  You will hear a "blip" with each command.

The controller value display is a side effect of turning on Enable CronusMax, even if you do not have a CronusMax.

Few PC games work with the Quadstick in the default USB emulation (called Direct Input)  Most work with either mouse & keyboard or an XBox 360 controller.  Vocola commands over USB will only work in USB modes 0 and 2.  It will not work in other USB modes since we are emulating specific devices.

You will need to read all the vocola documents in detail if you want to make your own vch and/or vcl file.  When the game is in the front of the screen, it, the game, gets the voice commands, not the QMP.  Look at the Half Life VCH and VCL files for examples.  The VCL file is in control when the game is running and the VCH file is in control when QMP is in front.  The VCH file just serves to activate the quadstick configuration file.  The VCL file has the commands used while playing the game.
