This is a summary of some mucking around I've done in recent weeks and hopefully serves to save others the time I've spent figuring it out

Whenever I've wanted to combine the Quadstick and Xbox Adaptive Controller so that they function as one device (similar to copilot on Xbox), I've used the Titan Two adapter, with the Quadstick plugged into one USB port and the XAC in the other:

Quadstick

Titan Two - - - - - - - - - - - - Console/PC

XAC

The Titan Two is able to combine the inputs from both devices and output to the console or PC as if it were one controller, allowing a player to use a hand joystick and jelly bean switches as well as the Quadstick, great for FPS if you have some arm function. That's all well and good, except the Titan Two has been unavailable (sold out worldwide) for many months, with no sign of returning.

Necessity breeds innovation, so I've hunted around for an alternative, and turns out what I've found might be better.

The latest Quadstick firmware (2357) allows a PS4 controller to be plugged into the back of the Quadstick and to pass its input through to the console/PC. Extending this idea, an Xbox Adaptive Controller can be plugged into the same port, using the Brook Wingman XE converter to make it look like a PS4 controller to the Quadstick. This setup looks like this:

XAC  - - - - - - - Brook Wingmwan XE - - - - - - Quadstick  - - - - - - - Console/PC

You need to have an appropriate config file on the Quadstick that allows it to see and pass the PS4 controls through, such as this one:

And here is a profile I built for Apex Legends:

This setup is better than the Titan Two setup because:
  • it's significantly cheaper
  • the Wingman XE requires no configuration other than an initial firmware update, unlike the Titan Two
  • it uses less cables, and everything is in a linear chain, so less confusing
  • when using a PC, the Quadstick is connected directly to the PC so remains configurable by QMP, rather than being hidden behind the Titan Two and thus requiring USB unplugging and replugging to make config changes
You still have to do the necessary things to get the Quadstick connected to the device in question, such as running X360ce or using Xbox emulation through QMP4 on PC, using a CronusMax for Xbox, etc. This just adds a device behind the Quadstick.

I'm sure others are already aware of this possibility, but the info I needed was scattered among different posts. Hope this helps others to have it all in one spot.

So the complete sequence for connecting to a XSX would be:

XAC  - - - - - - - Brook Wingmwan XE - - - - - - Quadstick - - - - - -Brook Wingmwan XB- - - - - -XSX

Right? Thanks!
