Not sure why, but for some reason my QMP will not download profiles. It started happening a week or 2 ago and seems to be happening more often. I often make changes to a script and try to download it in the QMP. When I press "Download to Quadstick" it feels like normal however, nothing downloads.  The only solution is to restart my computer and then it works fine. I have tried the normal QMP and QMP 4, and have 2328 Firmware. Not sure what else to do.

One thing to remember is QMP assumes the Quadstick is connected prior to the launch of QMP, and remains connected for the entire run.  If the Quadstick is disconnected, like by changing to a different emulation mode, like XBox 360 for PC, then QMP needs to be restarted.   Also, while emulating an XBox 360, there is no flash drive access to allow QMP to make changes.   Always return the Quadstick to its power up USB emulation (either 0 or 4), then re-start QMP.

It would be easy to leave QMP running, then change the USB mode while playing a game, the switching back to QMP and expect QMP to work.  The problem is QMP only hunts out a connection to the Quadstick at start and if there is any disconnection, it won't automatically reconnect.

The next time it happens, send in a debug report before doing anything else.

Send in a debugging report with QMP:
  1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
  2. Start QMP
  3. Wait 20 seconds
  4. Perform the operation that is giving you trouble.
  5. Click in the Transcript pane at the bottom of the window.
  6. Press F1 key
  7. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
  8. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
  9. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.

The log shows that Windows is not allowing the CSV file to be written:

write_csv_file_for:  16nanjgU73Uo_mGIOBSn8C9tcyF1zfkmf8r8aP-xFI4A Fortnite v02 E:\\Fortnite.csv
IOError(13, 'Permission denied')

This can happen for various reasons, but most likely is something has corrupted, or filled, the Quadstick's flash drive.  You could verify this by trying to write some small file to the flash with another program, like Notepad.  Create a short text file and try to save it to the Quadstick's flash.  You'll probably see some error message.

Anyway, the fix is to reformat the flash drive and reinstall all the CSV files.
  1. Make a backup copy of the CSV files on the Quadstick to a folder on your computer.
  2. Force the Quadstick to erase and reformat the drive using the procedure described here.
  3. Copy the CSV files back into your quadstick.
Here is a list of your current CSV files and their spreadsheets, if you can't get a good copy from the Quadstick:

When the Quadstick flash is empty, it will "fall-back" to a fail-safe configuration, similar to Default Configuration, that has a mouse mode in mode 5, so you can still operate the computer with it to restore your personal files.

Always allow time for the Quadstick to complete writing to the flash drive when making changes to the configuration.  Pulling the power too quickly can result in a corrupted flash.  The mode light will flicker during file writes.  It will pause, then flicker one last time when the writing is complete.  That's when it is safe to remove power.
