Bluetooth serial connection or adapter

I'd like to purchase the multiplayer quad stick with Bluetooth,
but can I connect it with a USB serial adapter if I don't want to use Bluetooth?

Serial port commands can be used through three different channels: Bluetooth SSP (simple serial port),  a USB cable plugged into the bottom IN port, or over the USB controller connection in USB modes 0,4 or 6.

If the Bluetooth module is busy doing some other function, like connecting to a phone or PC as a keyboard/mouse, the USB serial cable will still work.
