hey guys,
just downloaded watch dogs 2 and wanted to play with x360ce. it's 64bit game so i used x360ce_x64 of course.
loaded an existing x360ce profile (this one) and started the game - no gamepad action possible.
so i had to use the mouse mode but found in "settings - gamepad" xbox highlighted with different modes to select like "standard, left handed 1, left handed 2, ..." but no list of controls were shown.
can anyone help? or is it good to play with keyboard, any experiences?

Give this a try, i'm going to assume that you put X3 60 CE in the correct folder where is the game application lies .
So I got the photo off the Internet and added the red boxes just make yours look like that, and The empty box on the bottom should say "apply or synchronize" if available

Make sure you are running in the x360ce mode on the quadstick when you start x360ce's setup program so it sees the proper quadstick inputs.  It will still see the quadstick running the default emulation mode, but that mode does not have analog values for Left & Right Triggers (due to an intentional crippling of 3rd party game controllers by M$).   The two emulation modes use different USB ID numbers, so the x360ce sees them as two different devices.

Really Fred? I never had a problem with X3 60ce and I never ran it with X3 60 CE emulation

Most games treat left and right trigger as buttons, but driving games treat them as analog axes.  That's where it would matter.  From the notes section of the x360ce blog post:

  • Look on the web and the x360ce website for specific instructions for different games.  Their supported games list is seldom up to date, so a google search of x360ce and the game name is often your best bet.
  • The QuadStick's normal controller emulation mode is not the best match for x360ce.  The L2/R2, Left-Trigger/Right-Trigger, show up as on/off buttons instead of analog values.  For games like Rocket League, which would like to use RT for moving forward and LT for moving backwards, this is a problem.
  • A special controller mode to allow LT/RT analog values in x360ce is available through a preference setting on a preferences page in a game configuration file:  enable_DS3_emulation of 2
  • The X360CE mode still allows the mouse, keyboard and flash drive functions of the QuadStick to operate. (Side note: The Dual Shock 3 mode does not. (Side/side note: NEVER EVER set enable_DS3_emulation to anything other than 0 in prefs.csv or default.csv or you might be mailing your quadstick back to me to fix it, just use it in preference pages in game config files)).
  • The QuadStick needs to be in X360CE mode PRIOR to running x360ce.exe, otherwise it will see the normal controller interface and not give access to analog values on LT/RT.  You can always re-run x360ce to renew the settings.  Load a game configuration that has the x360ce emulation mode (enable_DS3_emulation = 2), then run x360ce.exe to set up the game.
  • An example configuration file similar to "Default Configuration" is available here.
  • Rocket League X360CE example configuration file here.

i made a video so you hopefully can see what i have set up exactly: https://youtu.be/8n1Jg9EG4_4
sorry for my bad english. hope you can understand it (i'm a little bit ill atm).
i also tested joy.cpl in x360ce mode. "right trigger" and "start" doesn't work.
so watch dogs seems to have it's own problems with controllers, but the bigger problems are the overall "missing" functions.

I found the problem.  It is a bug (a typo) that was introduced in firmware 1072, when I added the native XBox 360 controller mode.  If you load firmware version 999, X360CE should work OK.

You can see the difference in joy.cpl.  The x360ce right trigger, select (back), and R3 (right stick switch), are all broken in 1072 and 1142.

It will be fixed in the next firmware update.

tomorrow will be another testing day. hope any setting will activate x360ce in watch dogs 2. all videos i found were just with the normal settings without any problem.
