Hi,

I'm new to the Quadstick..  I am able to play my XBox One with just plugging the quadstick into the PS3/PS4 to Xbox One Controller Adapter by Brook.
I bought a Nintendo Switch and can't seem to figure out how to connect the QuadStick.
I am stuck here
How do I do this?  Do I need to plug the Quadstick into my computer?

Its probably easy but I'm not the greatest with coding.

Thanks in advance,

Cory

your qs needs to be at least firm ware 1967 or higher &you need to download a NS profile to your qs which can be found on the QMP...LOAD IT and it should work

When I download a spreadsheet as a CSV, it only takes one of the sheets. What am I doing wrong? Or what should I be doing instead?

Also regarding each of your sheets for the different games, do you flip through them with the QS right straw or how exactly does that work?

I'm in the same position as Cory, almost exactly. Have Xbox working good but struggling with Switch.

Install the Quadstick Manager Program and use "Download to Quadstick with QMP" from the Add-ons->Quadstick menu, or if you don't have a Windows PC, use the Add-ons->Quadstick->Save as CSV and copy the downloaded file into Quadstick's flash.  The File->Download As... command will not properly format the downloaded configuration file.

Instructions for selecting the active game configuration profile are on the top sheet of paper when the box was opened or in the quickstart guides (page 8) on the Documentation page:

The user can switch between the configuration files at any time by Sipping firmly on the Side tube and holding until a "Boing" sound is heard and one of the LEDs will flash rapidly. This indicates the File Selector function is active.

Move the Joystick right and left. The flashing LED will indicate the index number for the file that will be loaded. The LEDs are numbered from left to right, one to five.

When the LED corresponding to the desired file is flashing, push the Lip button to load the new file. A second “Boing” will be heard and the file will be active.

The file list is sorted alphabetically, except for "default.csv" which is always file number 1.

I don't want to add to the confusion, but maybe they need a more Birds-eye view of the whole set up?

Here is how I play:

I connect my USB with the square end (this supplies the power) from the QS to my PC.
I connect my USB with the rectangular end from the QS to the Switch (this side cannot power the QS).
I enable third-party controllers in the Nintendo switch settings
I press A quickly when the Nintendo is starting up, either with a joystick or with the QS. You have 45 seconds to do this.

I put this on my preferences page for my Nintendo game sheets:
enable_usb_a_device 1
This changes the device to use the rectangle to rectangle connection to the switch. Please read the manual to learn more.
Example (smash brothers):

I switch between my sheets by holding the long sip on the right tube.
I also use the QMP program so I can use my mouse on my computer and switch Nintendo sheets easily.

You are not going to escape learning how to use spreadsheets with the QS. You might as well just start learning it now. You can make a simple sheet for the PC just by borrowing one of the existing ones. You can learn from steamybiscuit's YouTube videos by searching this forum or YouTube.

It probably was a good week or two before I finally figured out how to play on my Nintendo switch. Anyways, this is how I do it.

One more thing. Don't forget to update your Nintendo switch firmware. The one that shipped with mine was too old.

Is it possible to use the switch without the PC?

you don't need the pc to use the switch ...you only need the pc to install a switch profile [they run on emulation 5] after that you just plug and play when you choose the switch profile you have installed

Hi All
Been to prison /bedrest for a month good to be back guys and girls new updates i see.
Cory been where you are not long ago you want to start shooting and looting right off the bat, but......
I'm someone who hates using manuals and considering it cheating but with the QS its a must read it a couple of times it really helps trust me.
Loads of good help from SteamyBiscuit on Utube too.
As for the switch
You can just go direct into dock via the front facing ports no laptop needed.
The key is that you have to get the switch profile loaded and press A within 45 seconds or it goes to sleep.

See

Direct connection notes:

  • In System Settings, Controllers and Sensors, Pro Controller Wired Communication must be turned on.
  • The Switch only allows 45 seconds after it is turned on for the A button to be pressed, or it will go back to sleep.  When the Quadstick is directly connected to the Nintendo Switch and the Switch is powered up using its power button, the Quadstick needs to be changed from the default configuration to a Switch game configuration file (that has USB emulation mode 5) and the A button pressed within 45 seconds.  If the A button is pressed on the original controller, the 45 second time out does not apply.
  • If the Switch goes into sleep mode, the Quadstick will reset continuously and may need to be unplugged and plugged in again to work.  Sleep mode can be disabled in the Switch's System Settings, Sleep Mode.
