QMP 2.01 is available for users to download.

Download the installer here:  https://s3.amazonaws.com/quadstick/installers/QMP_Installer_2.01.exe

EDITED 8/28/16 to change the link to 2.01, which is the production release.

The biggest difference between v 1.04 and 2.0 is the way the user game configuration files are handled.    The edit->publish->scan->download workflow is replaced by an edit->download-into-quadstick command and the ability to drag and drop game files into the QuadStick flash.  Both factory and user files are listed side by side instead of switching between the two lists.

There is also a new version of the spreadsheet script that goes along with this change.  To update any custom user spreadsheets, change the Library version to 35:

Next Run onOpen:

Close and reopen the spreadsheet and the new menu should be in effect:

When your browser asks how to handle the QMP file, tell it to run QuadStick.exe.  When you make a change in your configuration spreadsheet, use Download into QuadStick using QMP to load the new CSV into the QuadStick.  QMP will start if it is not already running, add the spreadsheet to the User's list if it is not already there, and then copy the CSV into the QuadStick's flash.

You can also Drag and Drop the URL of the configuration spreadsheet from the browser's address bar onto a running QMP User's Custom list or the CSV file list to add the file to the user's list and/or copy the CSV file into the flash drive.  If running the browser full screen, drag the URL down to the Task bar, hover over the QMP icon and when QMP comes to the front, drop the URL on either the CSV or User's pane.

Notes:

  1. The installer will associate the QMP file extension with the QuadStick.exe program.  Most browsers will honor this setting but your mileage may vary.  In my experience, Chrome works better overall with Google Spreadsheets.
  2. At the end of the month, Google will stop supporting a feature that the older versions of QMP depended on called "hosting".   When csv files were "published", they were made available through this hosting service.  That will no longer work after August 31st.
  3. The Inputs and Outputs sheets that were hidden sheets are no longer used.

When reporting problems, please include your Windows version and a link to any game spreadsheet that may be involved.  Screen shots can be helpful.

Couple of things to try:

Try running as Administrator (right click the desktop icon and choose Run as Administrator).
If you have an anti-virus, try temporarily disabling it.

Windows 8 or 8.1?

If neither idea works, I'll try building a new exe on the old machine I used for 1.04.

Thanks!

If others could try both installers and let me know which ones work, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Rick,

Please try running from the desktop icon as your regular user see if it starts up.  If you could also try the second installer, I'd like to make sure that works on your Windows 10 machine.

The second one runs on both my Windows 8.1 and 10 machines.  The first one gives me the same error Jeffrey had, on my Win 8.1 machine, so I have something to experiment with.

The Start QuadStick voice command not working might be fixed by rebooting.  Dragon may not be aware of it after install.

Either I'm missing something or it's not on there but I can't find the button to bring up the list of user custom game profiles. I understand that with this new version you can download directly from Google spreadsheet but I usually work on my profiles before I connect my quad stick to it. So being able to bring up that list is nice so I can quickly download the profiles I made or made changes to.

The list is always there on the right - "User Custom".  The center is for the factory profiles and the left column is the CSV file list.

It should import your user files from the old version.  If it doesn't, you can click Add Game to User List button and paste in the URL for the spreadsheet.  Or you set up your windows so you can see both your browser and the QMP, and drag the urls over to the User Custom list and drop them.  If you don't use the Download as QMP command, you will need to set the sharing yourself or move all your game files into a folder that you share (which is what I do).

QMP remembers the ID numbers for the spreadsheets and the Download as QMP command will set the file sharing so that the QMP can read it.

found good number of bugs and problems that came up ...I'll try my best to organize it

1. When I updated to version 35 most of my Scripts most didn't acquire the download to QMP tab
...... And I learned that you have to have QMP already running Before you update versions....... so all I had to do was re-updated...then it showed up( suds that it didn't open for me on command)

You have to close any copies of the spreadsheet and reopen it when changing the library.  The menu doesn't change until you do.

EDITED 8/22/16 to change the link to 2.00.03 because of a problem with 2.00.02 running on older versions of Windows.

See whenever I try to use the download to quadstick using QMP it seems into my quad stick as a QMP file instead of a CSV file. So it doesn't show up in my user custom section.

Also whenever I tried to add my Witcher 3 profile https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sRYXUpw47vK9wrPZN7YNRBHi7oXYFdH-vl6svlj88Ik/edit?usp=sharing it doesn't show up in my user custom column. I've tried both dragging and using add game to user list and copying and pasting the link through there.

You want to set the browser to Open, not Save, the qmp file.  Even if you downloaded  and saved the QMP file, you should be able to double click it and have the QMP program open up and transfer the CSV file into the quadstick.

The QMP file itself does not go into the quadstick.

What browser are you using?  They all behave a little differently.  Chrome is best for working with Google Docs.

Here's what Firefox looks like when downloading a QMP file:

Your link is good.  The spreadsheet opens.  Everything seems fine, then nothing happens when trying to add it to the user list.....

Had me completely stumped until I ran the development version in debug mode and out popped this error message:  "ValueError: Invalid character / found in sheet title"

The / in Aim/Camera is causing a silent error.  Get rid of that character, restart the QMP, and it should work as expected.  I'll make sure that error message shows up in the transcript in the next release.  Good one.  This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find.
