Mouse for right stick

Hi guys this has probably been covered before but I couldn't find anything on here, anyway I'm using my Quadstick on both Xbox one and PS4 through Brook super converters but I was wondering if I could use my mouse as the right stick through the USB A in the Quadstick like the Ultrastik? Just the same as in the picture. My mouse is a Kensington trackball.

It is worth a try.  It works with more than the just the UltraStik:  https://quadstick.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/user_manual/um/host_mode.htm

You can use something like UltraStik Default to do a basic test.

Use the most recent firmware.

Thanks Fred, it did not work. think I'll get a ultrastik one day. If anyone reading this uses a full size trackball mouse on console like the picture could you please let me know what the mouse is? I have seen the little ones on amazon work but they are too small for me to use.

What firmware were you running?  The ability to work with more devices is something only in newer firmware versions.

I used firmware 2311. I had to update QMP as well, it had been so long since I updated it there was not even the option to enable USB A host

Which model trackball is it?  There are several Kensington trackballs on Amazon.

Sorry Fred I only just seen your reply, it's a Kensington expert same as this

Since then I have purchased a ultrastik but I still can't get it to work, I have enabled USB Ahost and using the standard scripts available to download. I am using the latest firmware also, any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I'll get one of those and check it out.  Send me the URLs for the configurations you are trying to use with the UltraStik.

Send in a debugging report with QMP:

1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
2. Start QMP
3. Wait 20 seconds
4. Press F1 key
5. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
6. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
   
7. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.

Has anybody tried plugging a Kensington trackball mouse into the Quadstick and using it as a right analog stick while on PC?

It is unlikely that it would work without a specific driver program written for it.
