so I followed the instructions:
Step 1. For Windows 7 and 8, install Xbox One driver. For Windows 10, there's no necessity to install Xbox One driver
Step 2. Execute the 20160418 version firmware update
Step 3. Execute the ONLINE version firmware update

To put the device in the firmware update mode, you have to press PS+Start, then L3-then-PS with a Dual Shock 3 controller for old-old firmware (and PS+Start, then Left-D-Pad-then-PS for the 2016+ firmware). Since my old DS3 controller does not work anymore, I configured a quadstick to do it with this configuration file:
For old-old firmware, center_sip followed by left_sip puts the device in and out of programming mode, the center_sip followed by right_sip puts the device in and out of programming mode for newer firmware.
Since these devices are less expensive than the CronusMax, they are a good alternative to consider if you don't need specific features of the CronusMax.
