quadstick keeps randomly dcing on pc

Hi for some reason my quad stick keeps restarting every couple of minutes on PC. It's plugged directly into my computer's USB port

If the quadstick detects certain types of errors, it restarts in the hope to clear the error.  

Does it run long enough to send in a debugging report?

How to send in a debugging report with QMP:

1. Plug the Quadstick into the PC
2. Start QMP
3. Wait 20 seconds
4. Perform the operation that is giving you trouble.
5. Click in the Transcript pane at the bottom of the window.
   
6. Press F1 key
7. Answer prompt to send in the debugging report
8. EXIT QMP.  Ignore any error message.
   
9. Send me an email so I know to go look for the report.

Have you made any recent changes to the configuration?

You may need to forcibly erase the flash if a bad configuration file is causing this.   It is worth trying that before sending it in.

whats strange is it only does it when im on a pc profile

I have two quad sticks and it has been happening on both of them I transferred some of  the profiles from that other one on to this new one and then I believe it started happening now that you mention it

If you are switching between two quadsticks, I can't really tell them apart in the telemetry. 

If both are experiencing a problem in common, then it is probably not a hardware issue with the quadstick.

What you describe as "restarting".... Is that a full reboot with the entire light show, or is it a USB re-connection, which just takes a couple of seconds?

Check your cabling, try a different USB socket on your PC.  

What do you mean by "pc profile"?   An XBox 360 for PC profile?  A typical mouse profile?

There is no "default.csv" file, so when it powers up it will be running a simplified version of "Default Configuration".  That config has a mouse mode in mode 5.

I'd recommend downloading a Mouse 2 UltraStik into it, then renaming the "mouse.csv" file to "default.csv" using Windows file manager.

You updated the firmware to an older version.  2328 is the recommended version.

Its still doing a soft reset every few minutes on the PC profile the second and 3rd hole will flash red a couple times even with the new wire

What is "the PC profile"?

Why are you in PS4 boot mode?  If you are not on the PS4 or using PS Remote play, there is no need for that.

I turned off the boot mode but the problem is still persisting but oddly enough for this is happening on all of my PC profiles

I tried that and it's still not working i even switched quad sticks and the same thing as well every three to five minutes it does a soft reset for some reason doesn't last more than a couple of seconds but there's an interruption

Your PC is telling the quadstick to reconnect over USB.  This is usually something to do with the PC trying to save power by shutting down the flash drive on the quadstick, not getting the response it wants, then telling the quadstick to reconnect and it will try again.

When Windows updates, it sometimes resets all the power saving settings to their default and you will need to re-do the selective suspend.  We just had a "patch Tuesday".

 

You can operate  the quadstick in USB mode 6 which turns off the flash drive in quadstick while leaving on the mouse, keyboard and game controller.   Add a Preferences sheet with the emulation mode set to 6.

See example:  Mouse 2 no flash  See the Preferences sheet.  Also note that without access to the flash drive you cannot make any changes to the quadstick, so you need to be careful that you can always gain access to the flash, so you need to leave the default.csv in emulation mode 0 or 4.

Looks like turning the flash off did the trick I haven't had any interruptions for the past 10 minutes but I haven't touched the default CSV yet

Got it good thing I asked everything looks like it's in working order ill just run my pc profiles in emulation 6 thanks again!
