Has anyone used the dolphin emulated to play games?

Can anyone advise on how to set it up with the quadstick?

When I hit Windows + R and send "joy.cpl" to open that menu, it seems like the configuration file I'm using has an effect on what type of "controller" it recognizes, but whether I was using just PC commands or my Nintendo switch controls, my computer did not seem to recognize any inputs. Is there anything in that plastic management program settings I need to update? Should I try using Xbox or PS controls?

I use the Quadstick manager. I use the X360CE Configuration to emulate an xbox controller Dolphin. 
I get the X360CE Configuration and customize it with Google Spreadsheet.
Then go to the controller settings in Dolphin.
