It's looking like a perfect cycling day for the Tour of Kansas City Gran Fondo tomorrow--partly cloudy with a high of 80.

Online registration is closed, but come on out & register in person Monday morning starting at 6:30 am.

  Parking - Longview College parking lot, 3801 SW Longview Rd., Lee's Summit, MO 64081
  Registration - Near Next Door Pizza, 3385 SW Fascination Dr, Lee's Summit, MO 64081.  On-site registration is $50.
  Gran Fondo start: 8AM Memorial Day, May 25th
  Routes: 20, 50, 60, 75, and 100 miles.

The Gran Fondo features beautiful rural roads of Jackson and Cass Counties.  The on-road route, with 20, 50, 60, 75, and 100 mile route options, visits several cities that will soon be linked by the Rock Island Trail--including Lee's Summit, Pleasant Hill, Strasburg, and Le Tour.



It's just a step up above your ordinary ride: A challenging ride that combines the best elements of epic recreational rides and scenic touring rides with the color and flash of a great road race.

Ever envisioned yourself riding a stage of the Tour de France or Tour of Missouri, rolling across the countryside with your teammates, crossing the finish line before a cheering crowd, seeing your finish time flash on the screen?

That's the Gran Fondo experience–the thrill of riding a Grand Tour stage, now open to anyone.

Fondos attract the entire gamut of cyclists–from touring cyclists to long-distance aficionados to serious racers and roadies, to those who just enjoy a 15 mile Saturday jaunt. It attracts riders who are interested in the scenery, food and support that is a step above the ordinary, friendly competition and working for a personal best–or just enjoying the scenery with friends.

Riders are timed for the entire route and for a special "Time Trial" segment between Raymore and Greenwood.  You can work for your best 50-mile or 100-mile time ever, your best time trial ever--or you can just
