Is there some place that posts the release notes for Samsung's firmware? I just updated from 1292 to 1294 and I have no idea what it does. I have a NU8000. I am beating my head into the ground trying to find out what this fixed (if anything).
I recently saw the 1420.0 firmware update for my QN75Q60RAFXZA television. There are no details if a user chooses to update from the TV interface, nor was there any information in the firmware zip file.
It's already frustrating enough that my TV auto-installs certain apps like SlingTV and Tubi and doesn't allow me to delete them. They just eat up valuable megabytes of space that I can't get back. Just a few months ago the TikTok app was randomly auto-installed and now it can't be removed either.
Just recently bought a 990 PRO 2TB to put in my Dell XPS 8950. The drive was recognized by the computer. It came with firmware 1B2QJXD7. I installed Samsung Magician and updated to 7.3.0, checked the info (no incompatibilities) and successfully ran the benchmarks. All was well. No issues. This morning, I got a notification to update the firmware on my 990 PRO from 1B2QJXD7 to 3B2QJXD7, but when I click on the "update" button, it starts the update and tells me I should save my work and I click "Ok" to continue the update. However, the update fails soon after that and returns with "Failed to update the firmware on the selected drive." Looked at the log files. Seems to be trying to do the firmware update but can't seem to find it and just times out. Anyone seeing the same problem? Anyone have a solution?
Update: Well I found a solution that works on my Dell computer. The solution is one that I saw posted as a solution to this problem, in several places, but I discounted because it seemed like it was too much to do to get a firmware update to work. There had to be something easier. My computer has 2 slots for SSDs. It came with a 1TB SSD in one slot and I put my 990 PRO 2TB in the other slot. The posted solution that worked for me was to swap the SSDs (put the 990 in slot0?). I swapped the SSDs, started up and Samsung Magician installed the firmware cleanly, without changing anything else. Took less than 5 minutes (use proper anti static mat and wrist strap).
Not sure whose problem this is but it sure is a problem. It may also be an interaction between Samsung and whatever your device is (Dell in my case). Somebody has to make this better. If your device has more than one SSD slots it may be worth trying. Worked for me. My problem is now SOLVED.
I have a Samsung laptop (Galaxy Book), and am trying to install the new firmware update via Samsung Update. I keep getting an error message 'Fail: Flash error. Flash tool reported error (103). Please check log file.' I have no idea what this means, but I've tried the update several times over several days, and got the same error message. Can anyone help / advise? (I have updated to Windows 11, if that makes a difference.) Thank you.
I made sure to format my USB drive as FAT32 and make sure my drive only contained a single folder containing the upgrade files, as recommended by others. The TV cannot find the firmware upgrade when I select upgrade by USB.
I have the same problem and I can see no replies to anyone's query here. On top of all, my TV does not show any apps any more, only one left is internet browser. Not even Samsung Apps! Let's hope Samsung customer service will reply soon.
Hi @Rokiit the latest firmware on the support site is 1260.1 (which you have), sometimes updates are firstly available on the website before over the air on your TV. These can be downloaded to USB and updated that way . The KS is a 2016 model, possibly you have been looking at 2017 firmware -changelogs-2013-2018/
I'm trying to update my SSD to the latest firmware using Samsung Magician, but I can't get it to work after trying almost every trick in the book. (Currently on Version: 3B2QJXD7 trying to update to Version: 4B2QJXD7)
I am aware that the update can be downloaded separately and installed using Linux "the hard way", but frankly I shouldn't have to do that, and i've never done it before so i'm not comfortable with it.
Same exact issue here on a 990Pro 1TB, except it won't even give an error. Magician just behaves as if the firmware update did happen and prompts a system shutdown, then when the PC is restarted it just says the same update is available again. The firmware never changes from 3B2QJXD7 and the new version is never actually installed.
I had this issue with Magician. While troubleshooting I noticed that when going the ISO route that the firmware updater couldn't 'see' any suitable drives (even though Magician saw it fine once Windows was fully loaded - suggesting a low level controller issue. The problem was my BIOS was configured to use the Intel RST Controller (from back when I had some SATA drives in RAID) and when adding this NVME drive it had defaulted to using this. Setting the configuration to AHCI instead and resetting allowed the ISO updater to work successfully. I don't have any spare drives to check it would have also worked with the Magician route but suspect it would have.
It sounds like that's WAY beyond what I am capable of when it comes to BIOS and updating via Linux. I don't have any knowledge or experience doing any of this stuff - I shouldn't have to change BIOS settings just to install a firmware update for an SSD...
Mine just updated without any issues. When my system powered off, I unplugged the power cable from the power supply and switched the power supply off. Then let my desktop sit for 20 seconds unplugged and switched off. Then plugged it back in, turned on the power supply and its good to go.
I'm another with the same problem. Magician will not update Samsung SSD 990 Pro w/heatsink from 3B2QJXD7 to 4B2QJXD7. This seems to be too common a failure for Samsung not to correct or at least post a solution, asap.
I have two 970 EVO Plus drives in a cache pool together for mirroring. The drive named "Cache" has an older firmware starting with '2B' and Cache 2 already has the updated firmware starting '4B'. I'm looking to update the "Cache" NVME.
'In Unraid, disconnecting one of the drives that is part of a mirroring configuration (RAID 1) would have the same effect as in any other RAID 1 configuration. The remaining drive will continue to operate normally and the data on the remaining drive will still be accessible'
Same problem with my 870s. It was required to write the ISO to a USB stick (using mkusb, rufus, etc) or burn it to a CD and boot directly from it. Worked fine then, updating firmware from SVT01B6Q to SVT02B6Q.
I stopped my array to help make sure it isolated the disks and nothing was actively accessing them to make sure it had as few possible reasons not to work is all. Sounds like you can do it either way (which makes sense as the Windows Utility can do it on the SSD that the OS is on, etc...).
Tried it with 2 pooled 1Tb Samung Evo Plus 1TB on a Asus WS C246 Pro.
Generally it worked. However the tool only finds 1 Drive and updates that one drive. The second is not shown. It's shown in the BIOS and it works within Unraid.
I found out that the updated firmware has a Serial Number check. It is apparently designed to correct an issue that only affects a specific batch of drives, so if your drive is not on the serial number checklist it will not install.
as i bouht the moniotr im experiencing issues where my screen goes black for 2 secs. It happens at least 3 times per hour (seems like losing signal while using DisplayPort). Same happens when I turn on HDR - this time it goes black whenever i move to second monitor and get back (plus the first case).
I read online its a firmware problem, but unfortunetly there is no firmware on samsung page, just manuals and easybox. I already checked for frimware for US ver. of the same monitor (read it works for EU ver. too). Samsung technical support is not very helpful and says that they only have whats on the page...
I would really like to get a newest stable firmware. If u do not have it for EU ver. the US ver. will be fine (S27AG520PN / LS27AG520PNXZA). I saw that @Emmi S helps here a lot if it comes to firmware.
Thanks to the latest firmware version, I was able to update my "LS27AG520NUXEN" from 1002.1 to 1004.4. Now I would love to know what got changed between these version, is there some kind of changelog/patchnotes?
i have exactly had a same Problem with you. Same GPU 7900XT POWERCOLOR, but mine is Odyssey G5 IPS 32" Flat. I try everything to fix the problem , from check the monitor problem at the store, until return the GPU with a new one, buy a new DP Cables.
When monitor ttest with NVIDIA GPU, HDR ON/OFF, 165hz , using DP , it when Normal. *****! LOL. but i comeback home and try with 7900xt, the problem still exist .
Is this the firmware work with all odyssey monitor including mine ? and how's the problem ? thx @Emmi S
UPDATE: I've tried using this Firmware files but the monitor said that my monitor had a newer version. And my problem still exist

YEP 7900xt hellhound. If its problem from GPU, i think we should wait for new update Adrenaline software. I opened this topics to AMD Community to. but not answered yet. Oh I try with other monitor because i used 2 monitor (2nd monitor is A*C)(DP-DP), its Normal. never getting black screen .
@the_bart123 New firmware is sometimes available for downloading to USB before the OTA version s available. I do not think a Beta would be on the website and 1504.0 is apparently different from 1503.9 . However as one member anyway saying there is still an issue may be best to lave for now.
Mine won't update too, but now I'm glad to know the issues before trying to force an update (that was the primary reason to look for tips on how to do that on the Internet). Let's wait for a non-beta fw release
