We are working on getting a new Schrodinger license. The PO has not
gone through yet, and until it does, we have a temporary license. I am
putting the license on the HPC ( "/home/benson/UFlorida_Interim.txt"
and "/tmp/UFlorida_Interim.txt" ) A new license will be made
available as soon as it is received. (The PO is underway, it is in
the system and being worked on ...)

p.s. I couldn't attach it to the email due to how Google Groups is
managing documents right now...

Will switching from the old license to the temporary license cause existing running jobs to fail and quit?

I don't think so.  I believe that it simply checks the license server when it starts up a job, and it there are enough tokens, then the job "just runs".  There is a "nanny" that continually watches the job, so that when the jobs finishes, the tokens are released back into the pool to be used.

You may be able to test the setup on a test platform first.  Take an old laptop, and then see if what happens to a job if you update the license.

Hi Mark,
I'm not sure why, but I can't get the temporary license to work on our machines. I copied the file from your file to our computers, renamed it license in the correct folder (and renamed the old one), but it continues to say that it can't start Maestro bc of an expired license. I've logged off and restarted, but I can't use licadmin (it tells me it's not a command). I'm not sure what I should be doing differently - if you have any suggestions, let me know.

Thanks,
Alison

I am having similar issues with the license. I copied the new license over to the $SCHRODINGER directory on my local computer but have been unable to get Maestro to open. Originally, I got an error message about not being able to check out a license for mmlibs version 2.0. However, not when I try to open Maestro it pretends like it is going to open, but it just hangs without ever doing anything (i.e. no error messages and Maestro does not open).

Thanks,
Billy
