For those who don't know, 1.7 is now officially out.
There are a bunch of behind-the-scenes changes, mostly focused on bug-fixes and performance improvements. The MAESTRO scheduler "sherwood" is now the default, which is a big win. Also, of note: experimental support for multi-node operation (read: distributed memory), experimental support of count-based collective synchronization (read: proto-teams), and non-experimental triggered threads (aka "data-dependent thread spawning" or "data-flow threads" or whatever you want to call them). For more details, read the NEWS file.
This release will also be included with the upcoming Chapel SC11 release, and so supports both single-node and multi-node Chapel execution.
Anyway, enjoy!
