Kenwood D74 Help

Just downloaded the software yesterday and I've been trying for hours to get my D74 to show received packets in the program.  

I'm using Bluetooth and I have a connection working on the Mac side (the radio says connected) and I'm using a generic Kiss connection in program connection profile with the port set as TH-D74 (what is showing on the Mac Bluetooth side), device generic and 9600 baud.

I'm sure I'm missing something basic but I'm not sure what it might be.  I have a Bluetooth connection working fine from the same D74 to PinPoint APRS on a PC so I know the radio is outputting data ok via Bluetooth.
