Hi Alan,
I think can be very difficult to give you help or answers... Basically, hbIde is used to write programs and hbmk2 is the harbour tool to build program: so these infos say ... nothing.
On the other hand, if you are using QtContribs remember that is a GUI based upon Qt and it's not a CUI ( clipper) program; what I mean: is diefferent.
I can only suggest to take the first/simple program and rethink if your code is "aligned" (I don't know to well say) for QtContribs.
eg. are you using hbqtWidgets? Have you "converted" code to use its widgets? etc. etc
