1. Primary Issue Location

  • Component: QSWAT+, SWAT+ Editor, SWAT+ Executable, or Model Functionality)
  • Area of impact:  Flow out

2. Software Versions

  • GIS Interface: * SWAT+ Editor

3. Project Characteristics

  • Watershed Details: Watershed of 2876 ha with 11 subassins, 74 channels and 221 HRU. Localisation : EM1230, Póvoa de Rio de Moinhos (Portugal)
  • Modeling Aim: (Flow, water quality)

4. Description of Issue

  • The Problem: (The amount of water leaving my HRUs appears to be zero. As a result, my simulated daily flow rates are very low (between 1 and 2 cubic metres per second).)

5. Supporting Data (Optional)

Hi,

The information provided here is very limited to fully diagnose the issue.

Please keep in mind that streamflow and the water leaving an HRU are distinct components—while they are certainly related, they do not necessarily correlate directly due to routing, lag, and other basin-wide processes. To understand what is happening, you need to analyze the total water balance of your setup. Check your precipitation, evapotranspiration (ET), change in soil storage, and groundwater components to see how the water is moving through the system.

Read and perform the swat+ model verification: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364815223002645https://biopsichas.github.io/SWATdoctR/ before proceeding to hard calibration.

Best regards,
Natalja
